Barça will challenge the agreements agreed by LaLiga in the Dubai assembly

Both Barça and Real Madrid participated electronically in the extraordinary general assembly of LaLiga held this Wednesday in Dubai, although both delegated their vote to a lawyer from the Clifford firm, the same from the Super League. At first, the two clubs refused to attend, the whites because they considered it "illegal" and the Catalans because they did not think it was "opportune". In the case of the Barcelona entity, its participation in the meeting, in which the rest of the First and Second teams were also present, had the objective of voting against all the aspects addressed and, in the end, challenging the assembly and the agreements adopted.

Barça, which has not yet decided when it will take action against the agreements and if it will do so together with another club, probably Madrid, understands that the meeting has been poorly called, that the issues discussed have not been adequate and that going to Dubai is an unjustified expense. Among the points that were modified, the one related to fair play stands out, the basis of which had already been previously approved by the delegated commission.

This aspect is especially delicate for Barça, whose wage bill is skyrocketing and its economy has been under stress for years. The new regulations on this matter stipulate that the results from the transfer of future income, which in Barcelona jargon is known as levers, can only reach 5% of the turnover per season.

Another point that stands out is related to the transfer or termination of players with losses. This section has also affected Barça in recent years due to the sale of players for lower figures than their signings. Now, if a footballer who has not yet been amortized is sold, the losses will be applied to the squad cost limit annually and distributed proportionally based on the remaining years of the player's contract.

The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, confirmed this past Tuesday, in a meeting with the media in Doha, that Madrid had changed its position and was going to be online. On the other hand, the president still had no confirmation at that time of Barça's participation. "I suppose that Barça received the call from Florentino, and to train," Tebas went so far as to say of the ancestry of the Madrid president about the Barcelona managers.

"Barça has resorted to everything that we have applied and they have lost everything. We are applying the rules that correspond to Barça and to all the clubs," Tebas explained in Doha. The leader urged the Catalan entity to forget the famous 'levers' so that it can focus on lowering its skyrocketing salary mass, which is the main obstacle for the club to adapt to fair play.

Regarding the short notice of the meeting, Tebas assured that both Barça and Madrid "were informed and notified since September". "The budget was approved in the ordinary general assembly with a special section called 'Investment in Dubai'. Barça was signed up with the treasurer and Mateu Alemany until three days ago," he defended.
