Barça studies activating a third lever to register new signings

With a strong handshake, a slap on the cheek and an effusive hug, Joan Laporta welcomed Robert Lewandowski. Like the rest of the Blaugrana expedition (except Xavi), the Polish striker is already in Miami, where he was able to greet his new teammates before joining the training routine. Lewandowski passed the medical examination without setbacks and was later to be presented at the Barça academy in Florida. However, the club decided to move the act to today, once all the contracts are signed.

"I'm here to help Barça get back to the top and win as many titles as possible," he said upon arrival in the United States in statements released by the club. “I am ready to face this new challenge in my career. I am a player who likes to win matches and titles. I hope the season starts and ends well in this sense”.

The signing of Lewandowski (45 million plus another five variables) and that of Raphinha (around 58 million) make Barça the great agitator of the market so far, along with Manchester City (109 million), a scenario nothing imaginable before summer. All this expense would be incomprehensible without the economic levers approved in the assembly.

After a meeting last Sunday of the economic vice president, Eduard Romeu, with investment funds, it is expected that the second will be activated this week, corresponding to 15% of the television rights for 25 years assigned to Sixth Street for a figure that ranges between 320 and 330 millions. It is the same fund that acquired 10% of the first lever in exchange for 205 million.

This amount of money allows you to reduce debt and sign, but it is inapplicable to register all new players when the salary limit is exceeded. That is why Barça has in mind to recover the third lever that would mean getting rid of 49% of Barça Studios or BLM (the company that manages Blaugrana merchandising). It remains to find someone who pays an amount that meets expectations.
