Badalona will incorporate 42 new vehicles for the Guàrdia Urbana

The Guàrdia Urbana de Badalona (Barcelonès Nord) will have 42 new vehicles available in the coming months to renew the police fleet. The Badalona City Council has arranged for the incorporation of seven new patrol cars, fifteen motorcycles, one intervention van, fifteen cars without logos, two personnel transport vans, one material transport van and an all-terrain vehicle before the summer. These vehicles will be added to the eight police cars adapted for patrol work and the transfer of detainees that were acquired last year.

In addition, to provide the Guàrdia Urbana with more resources, the City Council has announced that it will eliminate manual complaints during the month of April. Starting in the coming weeks, the agents will use electronic devices to process the minutes and will be able to instantly print the complaint with the receipt, with one of the 70 mobile printers that have been purchased to modernize the service.

The mayor of Badalona, through a press release, has highlighted that "from the municipal government we prioritize improving the security of the city and we maintain the co-promises to modernize the body of the Guàrdia Urbana" providing it with tools to, according to what he said, "convert it in a 21st century police". Rubén Guijarro explained that the renewal of the fleet and the elimination of manual complaints "are needs that have been addressed for a long time" and announces that "we want to continue introducing improvements that facilitate the work of agents, with greater security and comfort" to facilitate the service they provide to the citizenry.
