Badalona begins work on the Llefià sports complex, home of the 2023 Endesa Mini Cup

In recent weeks, work has begun to remodel the Llefià sports center in Badalona (Barcelonès Nord), which will host the Endesa Mini Cup between February 16 and 19, coinciding with the Copa del Rey basketball event in the city. Mayor Rubén Guijarro, accompanied by the councilor for District 4, Araceli Cruz, and the coordinator of the Mini Cup, Andreu Lladó, visited the facilities to follow the progress of the work, which will end before the start of the competition.

The works on the Llefià sports center are part of the action plan for an amount of 3.4 million euros to improve various municipal sports facilities for the celebration of the Copa del Rey, among which are also the Bufalà, Joaquim Blume, Montigalà, Casagemes-Albert Esteve and La Plana.

In the case of Llefià, 1,025,000 euros have been invested to carry out actions on the facades and roofs, the acquisition of new equipment, the improvement of the facilities and interior actions such as the remodeling of changing rooms and public toilets, incorporating adapted spaces for people with reduced mobility.

The mayor of Badalona, ​​Rubén Guijarro, explained that "with the performances in this pavilion and in other city facilities we want to match the quality and excellence that the city's clubs and athletes demonstrate year after year" . Guijarro has remarked that "we continue working so that all the sports facilities in the city can be improved after years of poor maintenance."
