At least three killed in Russian missile strikes in Zaporizhia

In addition, the attacks have left 12 injured, according to the latest data published by the Zaporizhia regional military administration in a statement on Telegram, which is collected by the Ukrainian agency Ukrinform.

"At this time, the information of three deaths is confirmed. Another twelve citizens are hospitalized in medical facilities in the city, including a child. The information on injuries and deaths is constantly updated," the report indicates.

Initially, two women had been reported dead, although later the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Staruj, specified on Telegram that there was only one confirmed fatality, to which two other deceased have subsequently been added.

"There could have been many more victims, but thanks to the timely and professional performance of emergency workers in Zaporizhia, 21 victims have already been rescued," he said at the time.

At the scene of the attack, rescue work continues with the participation of the police, the State Emergency Service, the Security Service, ambulances and specialists from other services.

Meanwhile, Kirilo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the President's Office, has reported that Russia bombed the center of Zaporizhia with S-300 missiles.

"The shelling was presumably carried out from an S-300 surface-to-air missile system. The missiles landed in the center of the city," he wrote in a message on Telegram.

For their part, the Ukrainian authorities reported two missile attacks in this city in southern Ukraine and recommended that the population remain in safe places.

In the first attack, the Russian army fired seven rockets at residential buildings and two multi-storey buildings were destroyed.
