Asian Guy stabbed back Chinatown, Defendant charged with attempted murder as a hate crime

A 23-year-old was billed with second-degree attempted murder as a hate crime after allegedly stabbing a 36-year-old Asian person at the trunk in New York City's Chinatown, police sources said.

Salman Muflihi, of Brooklyn, supposedly attracted an 8-inch knife to the victim at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday, according to police sources.

Following the assault Muflihi hurried to a security guard outside the local Manhattan District Attorney's Office, supposedly telling the guard,"I stabbed someone. Where are the authorities " Sources stated.

Muflih allegedly told detectives that he"did not like how" the victim"looked at him,"

Violence against Asians has been rising because the pandemic.

Between March and December this past year, the company Stop Asian American and Pacific Islander Hate recorded almost 3,000 reports of anti-Asian despise incidents nationally.

The New York City Police Department reported that a 1,900% increase in anti-Asian hate crimes this past year.
