As bestas, the film directed by director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, is one of the candidates to represent Spain at the 2023 Oscars gala, which will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
It is a rural horror story, set in a Galician town. The story is played by a middle-aged French couple, Antoine and Olga, who come to live in the town in search of a closer relationship with nature. His presence, however, ignites two locals, brothers Xan and Lorenzo, to the point of open hostility and then shocking violence.
The film, a Spanish-French work, stars Dénis Menochet, Marina Fois and Luis Zahera.
