The Civil Guard, in collaboration with the FBI, has arrested three pedophiles who had fled the United States in Madrid, Barcelona and Gran Canaria. The authorities were looking for them for sexual crimes against minors, the armed institute reported this Wednesday.
The first of those arrested is a 55-year-old man who sexually assaulted and impregnated his 12-year-old stepdaughter in 2014. The man lived with the little girl's mother and brothers. He has been arrested in Vecindario (Gran Canaria), since he had fled to Spain when they tried to arrest him.
The second detainee is a 71-year-old man who was part of a criminal network dedicated to sharing multimedia files with sexual content of minors that the FBI began to investigate in 2010. The man had fled to Honduras, where he even obtained nationality. to avoid his extradition. But, following an FBI notice that he had recently traveled to Spain, UCO agents have finally tracked him down and arrested him in Getafe (Madrid), where he led an "apparently normal" life.
Finally, the third detainee is a 23-year-old man who is accused of threatening and coercing a minor through a messaging platform for "gamers" for the recording of pornographic material that he later sold on several occasions between October 2022 and January of this year. Fleeing from Kalamazoo County (Michigan, USA), the young man was studying for a master's degree in Barcelona.
