The National Police have arrested in La Jonquera (Alt Empordà), a man claimed by the Italian justice system for the murder of a soldier. The arrest occurred inside a high-speed train that covered the Perpignan-Figueres route.
It was a mixed Franco-Spanish patrol that controlled the high-speed rail route who identified the fugitive, considered "very dangerous" and traveling with a false Italian residence permit and Tunisian passport.
National Police agents, who have activated the extradition process, identified the detainee, who was trying to evade justice. In the police offices of the La Jonquera Immigration and Documentation Unit, his true identity was ascertained and that at that time the Italian authorities were about to file a claim in the Schengen Information System.
