It was a complaint from the man's mother and ex-partner to the National Police of Algeciras, in Cádiz, that disrupted his plans to take his minor son, barely 3 years old, to Morocco without the mother's consent.
The agents, once they became aware of the situation and were informed that the individual had been accused of habitual mistreatment in the family, activated a search device that ended with the man being detained, thus aborting his escape plan.
First, the Police went to the point where the father was supposed to be with his son, but the place was empty, so they went to their place of work, a restaurant in the city. There, the owner of the establishment reported that this person had asked him for 300 euros to travel to the neighboring country.
Finally, the police managed to locate the father with his three-year-old son at the now detained man's family home, where they verified that he had everything planned to leave the country that same afternoon.
The man was arrested and the minor was handed over to his mother and, currently, both - in addition to their other two minor children - are under the protection of the competent authorities.
In a note, the Police explain that the individual is accused of an alleged crime of habitual abuse in the family environment.
