Arrested for stealing solar panels and batteries worth 16,000 euros in second homes

Agents of the Civil Guard of Valencia, within the framework of the 'Tympana 21' operation, have arrested a man in the Vall d'Albaida area for allegedly robbing second homes of solar panel converters, batteries and inverters, among other things objects, with a total value of approximately 16,000 euros.

Investigators attribute a total of 15 robberies committed to him, after these events began to increase in the area in mid-2022, as reported by the armed institute in a statement.

Apparently, the suspect took advantage of the night to avoid being discovered and cut the perimeter fence. Once on the plot, he forced the windows to access the interior of the houses, where he mainly stole batteries, inverters and solar panel converters that provided electricity to the houses.

The agents identified the perpetrator of these events and arrested him on the 13th in the Valencian town of Alberic.

In the search carried out, various tools have been seized, an inverter, a mini-bike and two electric scooters. The total value of the stolen effects amounts to approximately 16,000 euros in the 15 robberies committed.

The Civil Guard has not yet recovered all the stolen effects, since they were sold to other people; two of them are being investigated for reception crimes. For this reason, those affected can contact the Civil Guard post of Benigànim (Valencia) to justify that any object that remains to be identified is their property.

The detainee, 39 years old and Spanish nationality, is accused of 15 crimes of robbery with force in second homes. In addition, two men, 29 and 40 years old and of Spanish nationality, are being investigated for two reception crimes. The proceedings have been delivered to the Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 1 of Ontinyent.
