Aragonès describes the pact with the social agents for the budgets as "historic"

The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has described this Monday as a "great, extraordinary and historic agreement" the pact with the social agents to give rise to some "country budgets", to which he has urged the opposition to give support politician and parliamentarian He has said it after the protocol act of signing the agreement that contemplates the revaluation of 8% of the Income Sufficiency Indicator of Catalonia (IRSC) that had been frozen for 12 years.

The president recalled that this is the first time that the Executive has agreed with the social partners on a series of measures to be included in the next accounts, if they achieve the necessary majority from a majority in Parliament, and has defended that this "should be the usual dynamic" and "essential" from now on.

The agreements formalized this Monday, which were already announced last week, are divided into five areas: measures to promote productive activity and industry; promotion of employment policies; measures in the field of Training and Professional Qualification; measures in the field of social protection; and consolidation and reinforcement measures of the Consell del Diàleg Social.

Also advance in the execution of the National Pact for Industry with 680 million euros for 2023, demand that the Government transfer the management of the minimum vital income to the Generalitat or advance in the "effective" deployment of the Business Management Office and the Single Business Window. That budget for the National Pact was already planned and it only needs to be definitively validated in some budgets. According to the unions CC.OO. and UGT, the pact involves mobilizing 1,440 million euros.

Only through the Guaranteed Citizenship Income (RGC) and other benefits, the unions estimate that 144 million euros will be provided. In terms of occupation, a budget of 595 million is calculated.

This "important, far-reaching agreement that opens the way", said Aragonès, "offers tools and resources" for Catalonia to advance economically and socially and to strengthen social dialogue.

The president has also underlined "the need to have a country budget", in an appeal to the opposition groups to give their endorsement to the proposal made by the executive, and, in this sense, has affirmed that the Government's will be "a country proposal" for all Catalans.

The Minister of Business and Labor, Roger Torrent, thanked the unions and employers for their responsibility to society and the predisposition they have had to sign this agreement at a time when "this attitude is needed".

At the same time, he has assured that, despite the economic scenario of economic "obstacles and uncertainty" in which we find ourselves, there are "good indicators", such as GDP growth and fewer unemployed people.
