The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, announced this Saturday that next October the Government will promote the creation of a "public energy company, which will be at the service of city councils and the Generalitat for the generation of renewable energy".
This is what he explained in an event in Palamós (Girona) with the title "We write the republican future. Feminist, environmentalist, social and democratic", together with the deputy general secretary and spokesperson of ERC, Marta Vilalta.
In November of last year, Aragonès already advanced a plan to create a public electricity generation company, with a first phase in which a technical office had to define in six months what the development of this energy company will be, which will focus on generation of renewable energy in public spaces or in which the traditional market has decided not to bet.
Since Palamós, Aragonès has highlighted that the Government, "with the new regulations on renewable energies", is promoting a "distributed energy transition".
"In October, we will take a new leap forward, with the promotion of public energy, which will be at the service of municipalities and the Generalitat for the generation of renewable energy, added Aragonès, who considers the green transformation "absolutely essential".
For her part, in a visit to the Local Social de Escaladei, in Morera de Montsant (Tarragona), the Councilor of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, has guaranteed the Government's "alliance" with the councils of the Priorat region, to overcome their "problematics related to water".
