Approved the eighth budgets of the Botànic with tension between partners

The plenary session of Les Corts Valencianes has approved this Thursday the Budgets of the Generalitat for 2023, the eighth of the government of the socialist Ximo Puig (PSPV-PSOE, Compromís and Unides Podem) and the last of the legislature, in which patents have been made the existing discrepancies and tensions between the government partners.

The regional accounts, which amount to 28,438 million, have gone ahead with the votes in favor of the government partners, despite the misgivings of Compromís and Unides Podem towards the Socialists, whom they have accused of acting with "disloyalty" for agree on some measures with the opposition.

The support of the PSPV in the opposition to carry out some initiatives, such as subsidizing the inheritance tax for family businesses that bill more than 10 million a year or for health coverage for 'bous al carrer' parties, have annoyed their government partners.

To this has been added the lack of agreement between the partners on the implementation and regulation of renewable energies in the Valencian Community, which has prevented the amendments presented by Compromís and Unides Podem on this matter from going ahead.

However, the three parliamentary groups have voted together to carry out some accounts that they consider to show the stability of a government that for eight years has approved eight budgets aimed at improving the lives of Valencians.

The opposition, for its part, has voted against some accounts that, in their opinion, do not solve the problems of Valencians but rather aggravate them, do not contemplate courageous measures to face the challenges of Valencian society, and are also ideological.

The approval of the accounts has been received with hugs and applause by government partners, while PP deputies have shown posters showing the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, together with the former head of finance for the PSPV investigated in the Azud Pepe Cataluña case.

The Budgets of the Generalitat Valenciana for 2023 grow by 1.7% more than those of this year, and real spending (non-financial operations) represents 22,116 million euros, an increase of 6.8% and 1,400 million more than this year.

They allocate a total of 22,040 million euros to social spending, which represents the sum of 83.13% of non-financial spending for health, education and social services.

In addition, once again they include a claim item of 1,336 million for the under-financing of the Valencian Community, which added to the nearly 14,000 million that will arrive through the financing model brings the total resources of the State to more than 15,000 million, which are added 1,187 million European funds.
