The future of Carlo Ancelotti was the focus of the Italian coach's press conference ahead of Real Madrid's game tomorrow Sunday at the Bernabéu against Valladolid in the second leg of the League. Ancelotti remained in the line of wanting to fulfill the remaining year of his contract but, unlike other times, he admitted that he will not retire once he leaves the white club, as well as that he would be delighted to receive the president of the Brazilian Confederation if comes to see him
Ancelotti was relaxed and even smiling. She was not bothered by so many questions about his future. He did not have to answer any about tomorrow's game, nor about the Champions League game against Chelsea. Only one about next Wednesday in the second leg of the Cup semifinal against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Asked if he was uncomfortable with Barcelona playing the day before, he denied it: "There is no problem, really. We have enough time to rest and recover."
What Ancelotti was most emphatic about was his future. "I'm not surprised by the rumours. And they don't worry me. The only thing I think about is fulfilling at this club while I'm here. Everything else is quite clear: I'll continue until Madrid allow me. We're doing very well, I feel affection. My environment is Calm and I, the same. There are two months left and we are going for titles, "he said. And he repeated: "I have a contract and I want to continue. It's simple. Nobody knows the future."
For the first time Ancelotti acknowledged that he is amused by the idea of being able to train the Brazilian team: "I love that Brazil loves me, of course that generates hope. But you have to respect contracts and I want to fulfill it," he insisted again.
Asked if he kept what he said many times about retiring after training Real Madrid, he couldn't have been more clear and concise: "No", he answered quickly.
Later, Ancelotti returned to Brazil: "I don't know the president of the Brazilian Federation, but if he came to Madrid to see me I would be delighted to greet him."
The Madrid coach does not believe that the rumors about his future are affecting the players. There are seven of the squad that end their contract on June 30. "The atmosphere in the dressing room is calm. What the press says doesn't matter to me. I think of Chelsea, Valladolid, Barcelona... the players know what they have to do and they don't get distracted. Not at all", he stated .
Ancelotti considers injuries to the team normal, the latest being Mendy's, who will be out for a month. "We have the same problem as the other teams. Mendy hasn't had any luck this season." Asked if Vinícius would have the same pressure on him from playing for another club, Ancelotti made a joke: "And if my grandfather had wheels he would be a car. What you are raising is not a problem. It is football."
