Almeida apologizes for the “serious problems” of mobility at the drone show

The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, apologized this Monday to neighbors and attendees of the drone show that was held last Friday at the Casa de Campo lake for the “serious mobility problems” that occurred.

In statements to the media in the Plaza de la Villa, the Madrid councilor recalled that said event was organized by the City Council and noted that “the forecasts were overflowed” and, therefore, “when the forecasts are overflowed, the first thing What you have to do is apologize.”

Almeida commented that the show “was extraordinary” from the point of view of what drones are, but “it is true that there were serious mobility problems that we should have solved as organizers and promoters.”

For this reason, he reiterated his apologies to the attendees and neighbors who were affected by the mobility problem that occurred. “At first we thought there was going to be an average attendance of 2,500 people,” but the attendance was “much higher.”

The mayor reported that he has given “instructions” to the corresponding areas, both the area that promoted this event, which was the Economy and Treasury, and the Environment and Mobility Area, “so that measures can be taken,” because “ “This cannot happen again, even more so when the City Council is the promoter.”

Almeida demanded that "they see what happened, where we failed and where we made the mistake, both to know it and so that the neighbors can know it too, and to rectify it so that it does not happen again in the future."
