One of the issues that is attracting the most attention at the World Cup in Qatar, beyond its controversial election and the accusations of corruption, is how the entry and sale of alcohol in the country has been managed.

Withdrawal of millions of beers. One of the main sponsors of the championship, Budweiser, has had to withdraw millions of liters of beer because it was decided at the last minute that alcohol was not going to be sold in or near the stadiums. It can only be purchased at the gold price in fan zones and in some hotels during happy hours.

AliExpress product. The country's alcohol restrictions, along with limitations on buying beer, have led the AliExpress Twitter account to propose one of its products as a controversial alternative. "We are all playing this World Cup," the company has published, attaching the image of a cover in the shape of a Coca-Cola can that covers a beer.

In numbers. The company's tweet has had a great impact with more than 85,000 'likes' at the time of writing these lines, exceeding 6,500 retweets and 300 comments.

Top comments. Despite the fact that many users have branded the publication as a "tweet", others have taken the opportunity to remind the company of the delays in the delivery of orders and the products that are not what they seem: "Buy it now and it arrives in the next world cup", comments a user sardonically. "You can't put cans in the stadiums," recalls another tweeter to reduce the effectiveness of the product.

Qatari law. An experiment that we do not recommend carrying out on Qatari soil, since it is forbidden to consume alcohol in public places and the Penal Code punishes people who are drunk on the street with sentences of six months in prison and fines of up to 800 euros.
