Alert for temperatures of up to 44 degrees for the third heat wave

Temperatures will continue to rise this Tuesday, August 8, the second day of this new heat wave. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), has indicated that the mercury will rise especially in the interior of the northern half and the eastern third, and the minimums in the northern half of the peninsula will also experience an increase.

The Aemet has warned that there are territories that are in orange warning (high risk) due to high temperatures. These are the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Galicia and the Community of Madrid. Of course, the hardest episode will take place on Wednesday when 44 degrees will be reached in areas of Jaén, Madrid and Cuenca.

In general, the sky will be cloudy, especially in the eastern third of the peninsula and areas of the Iberian and Central system, the Strait and Melilla area, north of the Canary Islands, and initially in the north of Galicia and the Cantabrian area. In these areas there is little chance of weak rainfall or even a dry storm.

In the north of Galicia and the Cantabrian area, cloudy intervals are also expected, and it is possible that there will be haze in the south of the peninsula that is not ruled out, also a little further to the north of the Peninsula and to the east of the Canary archipelago.

The wind will blow from the eastern component on the Galician coast, with strong intervals, and from the Cantabrian. From the east or southeast it will be present on this day throughout the Mediterranean area, with intervals of strong easterly in the Strait; of northern component in the Canary Islands and of variable direction in the rest. In the Canaries they will blow from the north component. Unlike yesterday, the Aemet has not activated any warning due to strong gusts of wind or waves.

The Aemet has warned that there are territories that are on red notice, the maximum, due to the high temperatures that will reach Wednesday. In Castilla-La Mancha, the Serranía de Cuenca and La Mancha from Cuenca can reach 42 degrees.

The Community of Madrid also has areas on red alert; specifically in points of the metropolitan area and Henares and in areas of the south, west and Las Vegas by records that will oscillate between 42-43 degrees.

In Andalusia, the region of Morena and Condado, in addition to the Guadalquivir Valley, is where it will be the hottest in the entire Spanish territory, since they are expected to reach 44 degrees of temperature.
