'Alcarràs': trailer and where to see the film that will represent Spain at the 2023 Oscars

Alcarràs, the film directed by Catalan director Carla Simón, is one of the candidates to represent Spain at the 2023 Oscars gala, which will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

The film is starred by the Solé family, who reunite after decades cultivating the same land, to produce what will probably be their last harvest. After the death of their owner, his son wants to uproot the trees to dedicate the land to a more lucrative business: the installation of solar panels.

Not all the family has the same opinion on the matter. While some of the members of the Solé family resist the idea, others believe that there is no other option than to fit in as best as possible with the new situation, some antagonistic positions that lead to a family crisis, magnificently captured by the Catalan director Carla Simón.

Alcarràs, who won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale and who captivated the public, can be seen on the Filmin and Movistar platforms, under payment.
