The mayor of Badalona (Barcelonès Nord), Xavier Garcia Albiol, will receive tomorrow the street sweeper who confronted two young men yesterday and prevented them from robbing a woman, and who minutes later were arrested by the Urban Police.
As reported by the Badalona City Council this Wednesday in a statement, the cleaning service worker defended yesterday, between Juan Varela and Richard Strauss streets, a woman who was being robbed by two young men.
Although the sweeper suffered injuries, the worker prevented the crime from being committed and, minutes later, the Urban Police were able to arrest the alleged perpetrators.
The meeting with the cleaning worker will take place in the town hall building in Plaza de la Vila.
Through a message from X (formerly Twitter), Albiol has congratulated the public worker for his defense of women, and has demanded "once again that -the aggressors- be tried and expelled to their country of origin".
