He was destined to be an entrepreneur and had demonstrated his skills with excellence, but a serious warning of a heart attack forced him to change everything: rhythm, profession and the way of living from now on with a very different lifestyle.
What could have been a major frustration was actually confirmed as a salvation, which was forced upon him through the most unexpected guidance. Grab the brushes. And it is that the surgeon warned her that she had to abandon business and give herself over to painting. The luck is that he had a marked natural artistic inclination that he promised. He was given to watercolor, a specialty that was not easy, but that he mastered and loved.
Thus, he went with weapons and baggage to become a professional watercolorist. She exhibited a realistic style served with a very personal technique. He was soon favored by success and ended up exhibiting everywhere: the whole of Spain, Europe, New York, Los Angeles, Tel Aviv.
The economic boom that this professional dedication brought allowed him, driven by his will, to cultivate other activities, all of them closely related to the world of culture and without seeking monetary compensation, but rather the contrary. In this field he displayed tireless activity, which not only avoided tension and fatigue, but also increased his self-esteem by giving himself to others in an excessive way: generous, positive, enterprising, sociable, honest, helpful.
This is how he broke into the publishing world under the Ausa label; He did it with excellence, especially when the highest quality color illustration featured in the work, which earned him recognition and even awards for the best edited work. He created a series of large-format monographs with texts by specialists devoted to Casas, Meifrén, Vayreda, Rusiñol, Urgell, Gimeno, Nonell, among others, and also on current artists or even two large volumes on Barcelona gardens. And of course ten volumes on his own watercolors.

Another editorial aspect was dedicated to the ancient world under the sign of historical research on Hispania and ancient cultures, two collections in which he had the wisdom to incorporate the minutes of international colloquiums in a novel way, which was very well received. And also two series focused on scholarship and orientalist research.
If in his way of understanding the service to culture patronage prevailed, not in the claim of economic benefit, it was logical that he never received or asked for official subsidies.
His ability to deliver took him to the field of diplomacy, where he acted successfully thanks to his people skills, diligence and extensive social relationship. In gratitude for the work carried out from Barcelona during the Olympic Games, he was appointed Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia; he deserved to be decorated with the Order of Honor of Freedom, the first foreigner to receive the highest distinction.
He knew how to mark a style, a solitary journey, but delivered with great openness of compass at the service of culture in the broad and diversified sense. You will be missed.
