Aitana Mas inaugurates the post-Older era in the midst of a debate on the role of Commitment in the Botanist

The new vice president, Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, spokesperson and secretary of the Valencian Government, Aitana Mas, will take possession of her multiple positions this Thursday before the control session for the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig. Her appointment was already advanced in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana together with the dismissal of Mónica Oltra -in a decree thanking "the services provided" but not including the tagline "at her own request", something that generated some debate in social networks.

The appointment of Mas after the "traumatic exit" -in the words of the Initiative leader herself- of the almighty Oltra inaugurates a new stage in Compromís that must face what its role should be in the Government of the Botànic. And it is that, in the coalition there are different positions. Those closest to Oltra point out that tension must be maintained and distances must be set with the PSPV, which they blame for the hasty departure of the vice president and for the lack of courage in certain social policies.

They understand that the electoral countdown is beginning and Compromís must maintain its criticism (especially of the PSOE and Pedro Sánchez) seeking a differentiation that allows them to approach the electoral call with greater arguments. In this line, Mas's first public statements were raised in which, in addition to vindicating the figure of his predecessor, he made clear the importance of "co-decision" when formulating the Botànic's policies.

However, this position is not unanimous in Compromís. Coalition sources are committed to lowering the tension and instead of entering into a dialectic with their government partners and "creating noise", they consider that it would be more convenient to explain to the electorate the different positions of each party but without making the differences the main discussion. "More pedagogy and less confrontation. That does not give votes."

Thus, they point out that to start working for the third Botànic it is not the most convenient thing to spend the day criticizing who is called to be your partner. They point out that it is not the best way to mobilize and excite the left-wing electorate, which, they argue, should be the main concern of Compromís.

And they even go further and point out that if finally a commitment is made to seek an agreement with the Yolanda Díaz project, it must be borne in mind that part of that potential electorate that could join the platform of the Spanish vice president comes from the PSOE, so it is not it seems the most appropriate thing to crush that political option.

However, there are doubts about what position Aitana Mas will take in her new journey that begins today. She has always played a role as a person of consensus and dialogue, but it cannot be forgotten that she is also a party person (she was recently appointed spokesperson for the Initiative) and her first decisions may still be highly conditioned by the position of her party still grieving.
