Aid to feminize the agricultural sector, generational change or create shared workshops

The Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda has allocated 9.47 million euros to 1,326 projects within the Food Strategy, a line of aid created with the objective of moving towards an agri-food model based on equity and sustainability.

The aid has been distributed through nine lines that are committed to the feminization of the sector, generational change, the fight against waste or the creation of slaughterhouses or shared workshops, among others.

Ponent is the most benefited municipality, both for the total amount and for the number of projects, with 2.28 million euros and 815 projects, as explained by the advisor of Climate Action, David Mascort, at the 69th Fair of Sant Miguel de Lleida.

The Minister presented in Lleida the impact that the first call for aid from the Food Strategy has had. He explained that aid worth 9.47 million euros has been allocated, "almost double" the four million that the Department initially obtained. This has made it possible to "provide 1,326 projects in Catalonia with direct aid worth 9.47 million, to continue moving towards an agri-food model based on equity and sustainability."

"We are committed to highlighting the incalculable work of farmers, ranchers, fishermen and fishermen to provide food to all the regions. Behind every aid there is a person who promotes a project that is life wherever it is developed ", explained the minister.

The Department defends that the aid, which was born with the desire to transform the country's food system, has been successfully resolved, both in terms of the number of projects and the territorial distribution with which they have been distributed. The Ponent veguería has been the most benefited, both in terms of the total amount and the number of projects, with 2.28 million and 815 beneficiary projects.

The strategic objective of this project, promoted by the Department in terms of country, is to articulate a comprehensive, sustainable, competitive food system, territorially rooted and based on its diversity, that produces healthy, accessible and quality foods, and recognized by the consumer people.

David Mascort Subiranas, stated during the presentation of this aid in Lleida that with this first call it has been possible to "begin to deploy the Food Strategy throughout the country, with aid that is transformative to promote a sustainable food system economically, socially and environmentally".

Line 1, which will allow farms to calculate environmental sustainability to obtain certification of sustainable agricultural production, is the one that has received the most requests, with 1,070 beneficiary projects. A voluntary certification to value the good work carried out by the country's sector.

The rest of the lines have allowed the benefit of another 256 projects distributed among all the veguerías in Catalonia, with projects that are committed to the feminization of the sector, generational change, the fight against waste or the creation of slaughterhouses or shared workshops, among others. other proposals.
