ACS wins another billion-dollar contract in the US thanks to the electric car

Turner, a subsidiary of ACS, has won its second billionaire contract in recent weeks in the United States to develop infrastructure related to electric cars.

The company will take charge together with two partners, Kokosing Industrial and SSOE, to design and build a factory of materials for electric car batteries in Kentucky valued at 1,000 million dollars (950 million euros).

The order comes shortly after ACS, also through Turner, was awarded a contract to build an electric vehicle battery factory in Ohio for Honda and LG for 3.5 billion dollars. It will start working in 2025.

The Kentucky project aims to supply materials to future battery factories in the country. Its novelty is that a large part of it will come from battery recycling, which will reduce the costs of the process and prevent mining.

The promoters claim that the complex will generate 400 full-time jobs and enough material to equip 250,000 electric cars a year.

The investment is the largest in recent years in western Kentucky and will include an innovation that will reduce the cost of materials to make them more competitive.

The plant will be built for the Massachusetts-based company Ascend Elements and various innovation programs supported with public funds being released by the Biden Administration.
