Abnormally high temperatures return with maximums of 25º in Valencia and Alicante

The Valencian Community will experience an "anomalous" warm episode that is "unprecedented" at this time of the year, due to the west wind, with temperatures that will experience a "progressive rise" until next Tuesday. The values will be "abnormally high" and could break "records" by exceeding 25 degrees.

However, in the last hours and early morning a front has crossed the Valencian Community leaving weak, non-existent rainfall in many areas.

After the passage of this front, the wind will turn west again, which during the holiday Friday will also blow from the northwest, and will leave "very strong" gusts in Castellón, which could occur in points in the interior of Valencia or Alicante.

This turn will lead to a progressive rise in temperatures that, predictably, will last until next Tuesday. Until then, both maximums and minimums will be "abnormally high", especially starting this weekend.

The forecast indicates that between Sunday and Monday the average temperature in the Valencian Community will set "new daily records." In fact, Aemet has indicated that it is "likely" that the next warm episode "will be unprecedented" in the region at this time of the year.

In this context, the year 2023 passes with a "clear" predominance of positive anomalies, with "several notable warm peaks." The "most anomalous" warm episode was recorded between March 11 and 13, with average anomalies that were greater than 8 degrees. According to Aemet, that of the next few days "may have an anomaly greater than 7 degrees."

Thus, according to the forecast, Valencia and Alicante may exceed 25 degrees, when the "normal" maximum temperature on December 10 in Castelló de la Plana is 16.5º, in Valencia 17.7º and in Alicante 18. 1st.

The historical maximum in December at the Alicante observatory (Garden City) is 26.6º on December 16, 1981, at the Castelló de la Plana-Almassora observatory it is 25.4º on December 9, 1978 and in Valencia (Nurseries) of 25.3º on December 21, 2019.
