Agents of the National Police have arrested a young man, of Bolivian origin, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of corruption of minors, for possession of audiovisual material containing child pornography, in Palma.
As reported by the Police in a press release, the operation has its origin in the request for police collaboration required from the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade, specifically, the Technological Crimes Group (Cybercrime) and Economic Crime of Palma, by of the Central Cybercrime Unit, Group II for the Protection of Minors (hereinafter PRM2) of the General Judicial Police Station of Madrid, as a consequence of the investigation that is being carried out by that group against the possession and distribution of sexual exploitation material children through the Internet.
The Central Cybercrime Unit of the National Police received two complaint reports from the NGO National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (Ncmec), in which the facts investigated were reported.
Ncmec is a private organization created in 1984 whose purpose is to address certain programs approved by the United States Congress. The center receives reports from digital service providers on reports of online activity related to the publication, downloading and distribution on the Internet of images and videos of child pornography. Once they have this information, it is processed and, after the development of the respective reports, the different illicit activities carried out within their geographical territory are communicated to the countries with which they have signed collaboration agreements.
As a consequence of such agreement, by the Ncmec center, international campaigns are carried out where information provided by different companies is collected, involving minors starring in sexual scenes.
Once the personal and technical information of users related to child pornography has been collected and processed by Ncmec, it is distributed to the different countries with which there is a collaboration agreement, corresponding in Spain to the National Police, specifically to the Unit Cybercrime Central of the General Judicial Police Station of Madrid, reception and subsequent referral to the different staff distributed throughout Spain.
After analyzing all the information, the alleged authorship of the detainee is verified, having uploaded the pedophile files reported by the private organization, at his home.
It was also found that he had made several downloads in his country of origin, claiming that he had them so he could report the people who owned them, since he was part of several groups on a famous social network.
Last Thursday, the young man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of corruption of minors, and the agents intercepted a mobile phone for subsequent analysis.
