The body of the worker who was trapped this Tuesday under the rubble caused by the collapse of the works carried out at the Adoratrices de Logroño school has been found in the basement of the building, according to the Councilor for the Interior, Francisco Iglesias.
The search began after the event, which occurred at 9:45 a.m., when a part of the inner courtyard of the building that is being remodeled collapsed vertically, in a cascade, with no known cause.
The incident has caused injuries to two other workers, one light and the other with a reserved prognosis, who have been transferred to the San Pedro de Logroño hospital.
Francisco Iglesias has also confirmed that the investigation is already in the hands of the National Police and that the City Council is consulting the work file to verify that all the licenses are in order. For the moment, the area where, apparently, there was also a strong smell of gas has been cordoned off, forcing us to evacuate.
As reported by the Digital Emergency Information Unit of La Rioja, police, rescue, health, psychological and logistical personnel have been deployed to the place along with technical personnel. Also 11 people from the Red Cross have mobilized to the area.
