Those nuts in their crazy gadgets. Once again, as has been the case since 1959, Barcelona and Sitges come together during the Barcelona Sitges Rally for the caravan of historic vehicles -cars produced up to 1928 and motorcycles up to 1938-, which cover the distance that separates both towns.

The event, declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, brings together close to a hundred vehicles that each year manage to attract the attention of thousands of fans and onlookers.

Barcelona’s Sant Jaume square has traveled to the last century housing 77 vintage cars and motorcycles for the 65th edition of the Barcelona-Sitges International Rally. It has been the starting point of this route that never goes out of style.

Among the registered vehicles, two produced in 1998 stand out: a Decauville Voiturelle and a Fisson Tonneau 8HP 3L, from Belgium.

Maria Marín, president of Fomento de Sitges and responsible for the rally, stressed that they are “authentic museum pieces in circulation”.

The caravan of vintage vehicles left Barcelona at half past ten in the morning along the Gran Via and ended up in Sitges passing through the Garraf coast.

The passage of these automotive jewels, with their occupants dressed in period clothing, has attracted attention wherever they passed, as in these images that we see in Gavà, in Baix Llobregat, on the road to Sitges.

Passing through Gavà, towards the coast of Garraf towards Sitges, it has been quite a spectacle of the motor world and of history to see the parade of these vintage vehicles. Nobody wanted to miss it.
