A driver was trapped this Friday when he was driving near number 19 Avenir Street in Barcelona when an acacia tree fell on him. The spectacular event, in which no injuries have been reported, according to the Urban Police, occurred in front of one of the entrances to the Jesuïtes Sant Gervasi school in Barcelona, causing alarm among the family members of the center.
The Barcelona Firefighters received a warning at 4:55 p.m., when the bulk of schoolchildren were about to leave the center. Access has been temporarily disabled and the Firefighters have rescued the driver and cut down and cleaned the tree.
Although it was a young specimen and its fall may be related to the downpour that fell in the area at that time, it is the fourth tree that has fallen in the city in the last two weeks. A fact that has led the council to announce actions to avoid dangerous situations.
