A survey about García Albiol to the absolute majority in Badalona the municipal elections of 2023

A survey carried out by the Gad3 consulting firm on July 15 and 20 of this year, commissioned by the Popular Party of Badalona, places its candidate, Xavier García Albiol, as the main voting preference for the upcoming municipal elections in May 2023. The results of the poll suggest the punishment of the parties that on November 8, 2021 staged the motion of censure against the mayor and instead does not present a great electoral wear for the popular candidate for the case of the "Pandora papers".

The survey gives a very negative balance of Badalona since the quadripartite of PSC, ERC, Badalona en Comú Podem and JxCat governs, who assumed the government thanks to the vote of support from Guanyem Badalona to expel Xavier García Albiol from the mayor's office. Thus, of the voters required to compare the state of the city during the last year, 48.5% estimate that it has worsened and 30.2% that it remains the same. Of the detractors, 78% declare themselves to be sympathetic to the PP, but a surprising figure emerges among the socialist supporters since 39% also prefer Albiol.

In another order, 22% of supporters of Guanyem and ERC -who are grouped together having run together in the last elections- assume that the city has worsened. Only 48% of the supporters of Badalona in Comú Podem consider that it has improved.

The respondents, required by the preferences of the candidate to lead the mayor of the fourth city of Catalonia, 49% opt for García Albiol. 9.3% prefer the current mayor of the tripartite government, Rubén Guijarro. Of the candidate of the Esquerra Republicana, Àlex Montornés, he prefers 4.7%. The government partner, Aïda Llauradó, from Badalona en Comú, is the favorite of 4.5%. The Junts per Catalunya candidate, David Torrents, obtained 1.7%. Nora San Sebastiàn, although she has advanced that she will not stand for election, obtains 0.5% of the preferences.

The survey shows that in 2021 the cleanliness of the city was valued at 48.5 and a year later it fell to 16.4%. The same happens with security, which was valued at 34% and currently only 5.9%. The cleaning of the beaches passed from 28.3 to 21% and mobility from 39.6 to 25.5%.
