The aircraft, a Piper twin-engine with six passengers and two crew members, had taken off a few minutes before from the Olaya Herrera airport in Medellín, crashing into the Belén Rosales neighborhood for unknown reasons.

The accident was confirmed by the mayor of the second largest city in Colombia, Daniel Quintero. “The accident of a small plane has occurred in the Belén Rosales sector. All the capacities of the administration have been activated to help the victims," ​​the mayor of Medellín tweeted.
