A 28-year-old man was stabbed this morning in the Madrid neighborhood of Malasaña after resisting being robbed while walking down the street with a friend in the downtown area of the capital.
The events occurred around 4:15 p.m. this Wednesday on Don Felipe street, in the Centro district, when a 54-year-old man approached two young men to try to rob them. After offering resistance to avoid being robbed, the attacker stabbed one of them significantly to escape the scene.
The second victim of the robbery came out immediately after him and several national police officers who were in the area came to his aid when they realized what had happened. Finally, and just 500 meters from the scene, the agents hunted down the assailant on the corner of Daoiz street and San Bernardo street. This is an old acquaintance of the Police who has three records for assault on authority and injuries.
The victim, for his part, was first assisted by the agents, who placed an occlusive patch to stop the bleeding caused by a penetrating wound in the upper abdominal area.
The displaced Samur-Protection health workers managed to stabilize him and later transfer him to the Clinical Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition, although there is no fear for his life.
