Agents of civilians of the Mossos d'Esquadra have caught this Thursday a habitual pickpocket while robbing a user in the Sants metro, in Barcelona.
The same police force has published a video via Twitter of the exact moment in which the woman steals the wallet and has requested its dissemination with the aim of showing the modus operandi of pickpockets and avoiding cases like this.
In the image you can see how the pickpocket stands behind the victim (who had her backpack on her back) and covertly, covering her hands with a jacket, takes the woman's wallet without her noticing.
The plainclothes agent, who had filmed the entire scene from start to finish, ends up revealing his identity and takes the wallet from him to return it to its owner. The pickpocket, who had already been identified for previous robberies, has been reported for theft.
In these cases, the Mossos ask for caution and recommend always keeping your backpack or bag in sight and, if the place is very crowded, carry it in front of you, well closed and close to your body.
