The emergency teams found a body on the Barcelona beach on Saturday at noon and everything points to a natural drowning. The events occurred in the Bogatell sandbank, in the Sant Martí district.
The investigation is carried out by the Civil Guard, which is gathering information about the event that occurred. The police received a notice around 1:45 p.m. for a possible drowning, so a maritime service patrol boat went to the scene. Police sources detail that the body did not show signs of violence and the victim, who was undocumented, would be a man between 60 and 70 years old.
The news was announced on social networks on the BCN Legends account in a video in which a part of the beach is cordoned off while the firefighters, members of the Urban Police, the Mossos d'Esquadra and a patrol boat from Maritime rescue of the Civil Guard participate in the extraction of the body from the water.
It was not the only event that occurred this weekend on the Catalan coast. The Civil Guard has also reported that emergency teams located in a cove in Sitges the body of a 46-year-old man from Corbera de Llobregat who disappeared on Saturday night when he went fishing.
The relatives reported the disappearance on Sunday and yesterday around 4:00 p.m. a search device in which a helicopter participated located the lifeless body that was transferred to the port of Vilanova i la Geltrú for the removal of the body.
