A naked thief is arrested in La Manga after trying to rob a nursing home

A septuagenarian has faced a situation she would never have imagined: discovering a naked thief, flashlight in hand, trying to steal objects from her living room. The robbery took place around 4:30 a.m. last Thursday.

As La Verdad has reported, the owner, a 72-year-old woman, woke up alerted by noises in the living room and found the stranger, who was holding a flashlight in one hand and several objects in the other. When discovered, the thief fled quickly, jumping over the balcony and descending the façade of the building. He hurriedly headed towards a nearby beach.

Once there, the thief tried to camouflage his misdeed with a morning bath. However, San Javier Local Police officers, alerted by the woman's call, arrived at the scene in time to question the veracity of her claim. The obvious signs that she had not been swimming—dry hair and body—were enough to expose her falsehood.

As the investigation progressed, the police found several objects in the sand, irrefutable evidence of the robbery committed. Among the objects recovered are two mobile phones, two purses, a television remote control and a multimedia device, all recognized by the owners of the house as theirs. These recovered assets have returned to the hands of their rightful owners.

The alleged thief, a 42-year-old man of Spanish nationality, has been arrested on charges of burglary of an inhabited residence and resisting authority. After his arrest, he was transferred to the Civil Guard headquarters, but not before making a brief stop at his home to dress appropriately. The investigation remains ongoing.
