A 27-year-old woman has been arrested in Alicante accused of mistreating her two-month-old baby, who has been admitted to hospital with five fractured ribs.
Investigation sources have confirmed to EFE that the mother's arrest occurred after doctors at the Doctor Balmis general hospital in Alicante ruled out that the girl's injuries were of accidental origin. In addition, they will detect other previous injuries in the baby.
For this reason, the physical abuse protocol was activated and the National Police was notified, whose Family and Minors Unit (UFAM) arrested the woman.
