The body of a man was found this Friday floating in the sea near the Forum area, between Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs, as reported by Civil Protection of the Generalitat.
The 72-year-old man of Spanish nationality drowned two miles from the mouth of the Besòs River and was found unconscious in the water by Maritime Rescue.
The lifeguards on the Fòrum beach in Barcelona, notified by Maritime Rescue, have called the 112 emergency telephone number at 1:11 p.m. warning that the body of a person was in the water.
According to the first information, the man was spending the day in a boat with some friends and would have drowned after intense waves prevented him from returning to the boat.
The Civil Guard has taken over the investigation as it is a body found offshore.
With this new fatality, there are already 20 people drowned on Catalan beaches in the summer campaign period (June 15 to September 15) of this 2023. It should be remembered that this count only refers to bathers.
