A 41-year-old man died yesterday early afternoon after being run over by a municipal garbage collection truck in the heart of the capital, a Madrid Emergency spokeswoman reported.
The accident occurred around 4:40 p.m. yesterday at number 29 Carretas Street, very close to Puerta del Sol. The truck was traveling towards Jacinto Benavente Square when, for strange reasons, it ran over this man.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics went to the scene, and could only confirm the man's death due to multiple traumas. A psychologist has treated the truck driver and a witness to what happened. The Municipal Police of Madrid is in charge of the report and the investigation of the events.
