A kamikaze driver causes an accident with one dead and three injured, including a child

One person has died and three others have been seriously injured, including a 4-year-old child, as a result of a head-on collision between two vehicles, one of which was going in the opposite direction, on the M-50 highway, to the height of Alcorcón (Madrid).

As reported by the spokesman for Emergencies 112, Luis Serrano, this service received several calls around three in the morning warning that a vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction and the last one reported that the car had collided head-on with another one in the kilometer 62.

Firefighters and Civil Protection personnel from the Alcorcón City Council, members of the Civil Guard and Summa 112 traveled to the scene of the accident, finding a family inside the car that was circulating correctly.

They unsuccessfully tried to revive the driver, a 42-year-old man, and transferred his 39-year-old wife and 4-year-old son "as potentially serious" to the 12 de Octubre hospital.

The 35-year-old driver of the other vehicle was trapped and was rescued by the Alcorcón fire brigade, before the Summa 112 took him to the Puerta de Hierro hospital in Madrid.

Sources of the investigation, which the Civil Guard has taken over, have detailed to EFE that due to the transfer of the injured man, a Colombian national, the hospital could not perform the alcohol or drug test on site.

But as he presented possible symptoms of drunkenness, the Civil Guard has asked the judge in charge of the case to carry out a urine analysis on the kamikaze driver at the hospital to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The results will not be known for another two or three days.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the frontal collision is charged with the crimes of reckless homicide and against road safety. In addition, depending on the injuries suffered by the injured woman or child, she would also be charged with the crime of injury.
