Firefighters are working hard to put out the flames that are burning violently next to a building in the University City of Madrid.
According to the first testimonies, the breakage of a gas pipe would have caused an explosion next to the facilities of the Nuestra Señora de África residence hall located on Ramiro de Maeztu street in the capital.
The proliferation of toxic gas in the area prevents agents from accessing the building while the Security Forces have closed off and evacuated the surrounding streets.
At the moment there is no evidence that any injuries have been reported.
