A Foment survey places the PSC in the lead in Barcelona

The PSC would be the most voted formation in the municipal elections of Barcelona with a small margin over ERC and BComú, according to a survey carried out by the Institut Opinometer para Foment del Treball.

The survey, made from 1,000 interviews between September 27 and 30, places the PSC in the lead, with a direct voting intention of 10.8% and an estimate of 11-12 councillors. ERC would occupy the second position (10.1% and 10-11 councilors) and BComú, the formation led by the mayor Ada Colau, would fall back to third place, with a declared voting intention of 9.5% and 9-10 seats.

In this tight fight, a fourth protagonist would appear, Junts – the survey was carried out before the consultation with the militancy on the rupture of the Government of the Generalitat – with an intention to vote of 8.1% and an estimate of 8- 9 councillors. The fifth formation that would obtain representation (2-3 councilors) would be the PP, to which the survey gives a declared vote of 4.4%.

The study commissioned by the Catalan employers suspends the management of the current municipal government with a 3.75 out of 10. Mayor Ada Colau is valued with a score of 3.2, worse than those of the hypothetical Junts candidate, Xavier Trias, and the ERC leader, Ernest Maragall, both with 4.4. Next would be the more than likely socialist mayor. James Collboni (4.1). The survey has also included former Barça president Sandro Rosell (3.3) and former PP minister Dolors Montserrat (2.5) among the possible candidates in the municipal elections of 2023.

According to this survey, the majority of Barcelonans are in favor of a change in the mayor's office (55.3% consider it very necessary and 19.3% quite necessary) and, as is often the case with all surveys, insecurity is cited as the The main concern of Barcelonans by 31.3% of those interviewed, followed by dirt (15.7%), access to housing (8.1%) and traffic congestion (4.3%).

The study commissioned by Foment also asks about some current issues. With regard to the expansion of Barcelona airport there is a clear division of opinion. Thus, 36.3% think that it is necessary and 35.6% maintain the opposite.

More negative opinions deserve the model of the superblocks that the Colau government is implementing. 46.9% of those surveyed are against him and 27.3% bless him.
