A Euromed train with 250 passengers blocked in Tarragona due to an electrical fault

An electrical failure of a Euromed train near the Boella interchange, in Reus (Tarragona), has forced the stop of the convoy in which around 250 passengers were traveling, who had to wait for about an hour and a half until another train went to the 'recast'.

According to Civil Protection, the breakdown has not affected the circulation of high-speed trains, since it did not occur on the Madrid-Barcelona line of the AVE, but a few kilometers from the Camp de Tarragona station, right on the area of the interchange where the Euromed trains coming from the Mediterranean corridor go from Iberian gauge to high speed to finish the Tarragona-Barcelona section inland.

According to Civil Protection, the breakdown occurred around 12:40 p.m. this Sunday. The 250 passengers who were traveling on the damaged train have remained waiting for the arrival of a new train, which made its appearance at the scene an hour later. After the passengers changed trains, the train proceeded on its way to Barcelona at around 2:15 p.m.

The incident has not affected high-speed traffic and the Ferrocat plan has been activated in the pre-alert phase.
