A dedicated Camp Nou pays tribute to Piqué

Gerard Piqué received the affection of what has been his fans for 15 years in his last game as a professional footballer at the Spotify Camp Nou. He had it during the build-up to Barça's league match against Almería, but also once the match started.

In addition to the applause from the Blaugrana stands when he went out to warm up, Piqué saw how his teammates jumped onto the pitch to play the match with his name on their back and the motto 'Sempr3' (Always) on the front of the shirt, in reference to the number on the centre-back's number.

The central defender with the most titles in the club's history (30) played as a starter and wore the captain's armband, on loan from Sergio Busquets. In minute 3, the animation stands were furious to applaud Piqué. Throughout the stadium hundreds of banners were seen from culés thanking him for the happiness he has given the club.

During the game, he could have been the protagonist as soon as it started when González Fuertes awarded a penalty in favor of Barça. The stands asked that the launcher be Piqué, but the Catalan defender was clear: "you throw it," he told Lewandowski, who missed the launch.

Previously, he had arrived at the Spotify Camp Nou on such a special night accompanied by his two sons, Milan and Sasha, who were on the bench during the warm-up and with whom he spoke once he went to the locker room tunnel. Both also accompanied him in the tunnel towards the field of play before jumping onto the field and were part of the photograph with the team. At that time there was a canvas in the central circle with the aforementioned slogan 'Sempr3'.

After the game, it is planned that the center-back will make a lap of honor to say goodbye to the Barça fans and, on the stadium's video scoreboard, a video will be shown in tribute to the fifth player with the most games in the entire history of the Catalan entity.

Piqué was playing his last game as a professional footballer at the Blaugrana fiefdom and the fans responded with the best ticket of the season: 92,605 spectators came to the stadium.
