A bridge to the solar halo in Vic

The weather is capricious and, in recent days, it is not the first time that the solar halo has been seen, on this occasion, portrayed for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia on this bridge in Vic.

The solar halo forms around the sun presenting an iridescent ring on its outer circumference, due to ice crystals when there are high clouds.

The halo is caused by ice particles suspended in the troposphere that refract light, generating a spectrum of colors around the Moon or the Sun.

It is an optical effect in the shape of a disk around the Sun —or the Moon— and that presents an iridescent ring on its outer circumference.

In Vic it has been seen this week during market Tuesday, shining above the Plaza del Mercadal, on the product stalls and on the buildings.
