A 25-year-old girl died this Tuesday after being hit by a truck while driving her scooter in Marbella, as reported by the 112 Andalucía Emergency Service.
The event took place around 6:30 p.m., when the Emergency Services received the first call alerting a young woman who was riding a scooter in the access tunnel to the La Cañada shopping center, under the highway, to a hit by a truck.
Quickly, the National Police and the Local Police moved to the scene but were unable to do anything to save the victim's life.
It is not the first serious accident that occurs with a victim who was driving an electric scooter. In Spain, in the last three years, this type of vehicle has been involved in more than 1,300 accidents with injuries. In the last two years, 17 people have died in an accident related to electric scooters.
