NASA released Monday, February 22, a video of the landing of Perseverance on the planet Mars. The images show the rover during its descent, a critical phase as the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, tasked with the mission " Mars 2020 ", has described as " seven minutes of terror ". This expression summarizes the difficulty of entry into the martian atmosphere, the final descent and landing on the barren soil of the planet. The mission of the u.s. space agency, launched on 30 July 2020, and the goal of finding traces of ancient life on the red Planet, collecting for at least two years, up to thirty samples of rocks. The sealed tubes must then be brought back to Earth by a future mission in the 2030s. The first sampling is expected to begin this summer.
