80 years of Harrison Ford: the great films of an actor without an Oscar

Harrison Ford turns 80. He has grossed more than five thousand six hundred million dollars worldwide with his films and is the actor with the highest box office earnings in history. Despite this, he has not managed to win the gold statuette and has only received a nomination for best actor for the 1986 film Sole Witness. Although he has not managed to enter the Oscar club, Ford has been chosen as the sexiest man in the world by the American magazine People in 1998 and by Empire magazine in 1995, in addition to receiving many other awards such as the honorary César, a Globe de Oro or the People's Choice Award for Favorite Star.

Ford is mainly known for his leading role in the Indiana Jones saga, but he has participated in many other films that we have all heard about. Although the list is much longer, these are the five best films of the actor:

This 1983 film directed by Ridley Scott shows a dystopian city of Los Angeles dominated by technology, skyscrapers and darkness. Harrison Ford plays Rick Deckard, a police officer whose mission is to hunt down the NEXUS 6, android robots that have become stronger and more intelligent than humans.

In this installment of the Star Wars saga, released in 2015, the galaxy is still at war. A Republic has been built but a new enemy arises: The First Order. Harrison Ford plays Han Solo, a former Rebel Alliance smuggler general, who serves as Rey and Finn's mentor on the adventure.

This heart-pounding 1993 film shows a young Harrison Ford playing Richard Kimble, a man who has just lost his wife. During the investigations, Kimble is accused of murder and must find himself the culprit of the death of his wife.

42, released in 2013, tells the story of Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman), who, under the management of team manager Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford), signs with the Brooklyn Dodgers to become the first African-American player to break the barrier of color of major league baseball.

Released in 1985, Sole Witness tells the story of an "Amish" boy who inadvertently becomes the witness of a murder. The New York police, with John Book (Harrison Ford) as chief inspector, must protect the young man from the murderers who are after him to silence him.
