7 wines that will brighten up your next summer picnics and aperitifs

There is very little left for summer to arrive, and with the change of season it is also time to change wines. In this selection we offer you some of the bottles that we like the most to brighten up your future picnics and aperitifs.

The fact that they are aperitif or picnic wines does not imply that they are not serious and very interesting wines. Of course, these are fresh wines, more casual and light for this occasion of pleasure.

Fragrant, subtle, mineral and perfumed would be a good summary for this wine. Its dominant aromas are floral, acid strawberry, raspberry, incense, scrubland and flint. Its mouth is a good reflection of what the nose advances, juicy, fresh and with a very mineral finish.

This cava is made with patience and its aging is a long-distance race that always exceeds 4 years. This calm can be seen in the roundness it offers in the mouth without losing an iota of freshness. On the nose it is very complex with notes of ripe white fruit, nuts, pastry and fine hints of bakery. In the mouth it is creamy and with fine bubbles.

The winery itself defines the wine as delicious on any occasion and at a cool temperature on a picnic it would be perfect. It has not been aged in barrels and its vineyards enjoy altitude in Porrera. It is expressed as mineral, with pear and apple tree fruit and is also floral. The palate is very pleasant and refreshing.

The vineyards are located in a unique setting and sheltered by the Miño River. The autochthonous varieties of the area and the expression of the landscape are the pillar of the winery. The wine is very subtle, floral and fruity. Citrus fruits such as grapefruit, stone fruits such as apricots dominate, and aromatic herbs also appear. In the mouth it is enveloping, with good acidity and a somewhat bitter sensation with hints of quince on the finish, which give it length.

Juan Antonio Ponce is the creator of this beautiful interpretation and expression of the Bobal grape. Its viticulture is absolutely respectful of old vineyards and the wine is aged for 10 months in 4,500-litre French oak. It offers a wide range of aromas where forest berries, wild strawberries, flowers and herbal notes with a balsamic touch stand out. The palate is very juicy and fresh. Final with pleasant sensation of bitter cocoa.

The third generation of this winery of good work and great background surprises us with this very pleasant and subtle rosé wine, which has remained on the lees for some time. It is delicate as a whole, floral, with wild berries and notes of field herbs. There is also some stone fruit and it is very refreshing on the palate.

El Transgressor is a brisat-style white wine due to its production. It is a project by Edu San Romà that is very artisanal and with minimal intervention, where he achieves very personal wines. The color is orange due to its fermentation with skins and subsequent aging with fine lees for two months. On the nose it is very fruity, with notes of grapefruit, orange, herbs and dried flowers. On the palate, the wine has a very pronounced but pleasant acidity, with hints of bitter orange that persist on the finish and give it length.
