Greek security forces have discovered more than 4,000 cannabis plants on Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in the country, according to police sources.

Two people, identified as foreigners, have been arrested for their alleged relationship with this plantation, reports the public television channel ERT.

The operation is added to another carried out on Thursday in a mountainous area near the city of Volos and which resulted in the discovery of another 2,400 cannabis plants.

The authorities estimate that the drug would have reached a market value of up to 20 million euros.
