The Danish Speak No Evil, by Christian Tafdrup, about an eventful vacation for two Central European families, has won the award for best film at the Molins de Rei Horror Festival, in addition to the award for soundtrack, while the Mexican Huesera, the debut of Michelle Garza Cervera about pregnancy, superstitions and new maternity, has won the award for best direction.

The Danish Speak No Evil, by Christian Tafdrup, about an eventful vacation for two Central European families, has won the award for best film at the Molins de Rei Horror Festival, in addition to the award for soundtrack, while the Mexican Huesera, the debut of Michelle Garza Cervera about pregnancy, superstitions and new maternity, has won the award for best direction. The jury made up of Claudia Guillén, Judith Colell, Felipe M. Guerra, Joan Vilà and Raquel Sastre has also awarded the script for Family Dinner, the photography of Viejos and the leading performance of Megalomaniac, in addition to the special effects of Project Wolf Hunting.

In the parallel sections, the prizes for Soft

Completing the winners of Being Different is the direction of the Senegalese film Saloum, by Jean Luc Herboulot, and the leading performance of the satirical Sick of Myself, while the controversial Terrifier 2 wins the award for best effects and Mad Heidi for best direction of Bloody Madness.

In short films, the Canadian 11-33 wins the award in the official section, and El semblante and Kickstart My Heart win the awards for best screenplay and performance, respectively. Phelgm wins the Best Effects and Gold Critics (Blogos d'Or) awards, and O wins the Méliès d'Argent award for Best European Short Film. As for the Catalan film section Ç Trencada, La masia, by Víctor Català, emerged as the big winner: best film and audience award.

Throughout nine days, the festival has achieved full houses in sessions such as the opening with Mad Heidi, screenings of AveMaria, Terrifier 2, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, short films from the Official Selection and Ç Trencada, and the 12-hour Marathon which closes the contest. With the festival still running, ticket sales are already 37% higher than the previous year's record.
